Steve Escovar was recently recognized as one of the"Nation's Top 1%" of attorneys by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. He is an experienced trial attorney with over 80 jury trials to verdict. He was elected and served as President of the Los Angeles Criminal Courts Bar Association in 2006.
He is an active member of the Los Angeles and Pasadena Bar Associations. He has served as a "Criminal Justice Act" (CJA) Panel attorney in Federal Court where he was qualified as Federal Death Penalty Trial Counsel. He began his distinguished career as a Deputy Public Defender in San Diego and Los Angeles Counties.

Mr. Escovar has served as an arbitrator for the San Gabriel Valley Lawyer Referral Service and has volunteered as the Criminal Procedure instructor for Judge Takasugi's Pro Bono Bar Course.
He received his law degree from U.C. Berkeley School of Law (1994) and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Political Science from California State University, Northridge (1991).
